As part of the Students' Union, we offer students a loan computer for a fee of £5 per term (plus a refundable deposit). You can borrow the computer for as little or long as you need, and it comes loaded with Windows or Ubuntu and some software. Unlike the machines we sell these machines come with technical support, so if anything goes wrong you won't be stuck with a faulty machine. You are also free to add your own software (although we are unable to provide technical support on your own software).
Typical Specification of loan machines:
- Pentium IV 2.8GHz in a compact desktop case
- 512MB RAM, 40GB Hard Disk, CD/DVDROM drive, Ethernet
- 15" Digital XGA Monitor
- Complete with Open Office (Microsoft Office compatible) and other software.

We have also in the past loaned computers (similar to those donated to charities) free of charge to university departments for limited periods where a temporary computer has been necessary. If you are interested in this on behalf of a department, contact us to discuss your requirements.
